Solomon Islands Students visited the Chinese Embassy

For the 33 high school students from 9 provinces of Solomon Islands, July 8th was a special day indeed. These students had an unusual opportunity to be invited to visit the Chinese Embassy in Honiara. The visit was part of the Open House Day hosted by the Chinese Embassy, including tour of the Embassy compound, brief meeting with Chinese Ambassador, watching video footage of Chinese culture followed by story-sharing of former graduate who studied in China. They also visited a photo exhibition of the centenary of the Communist Party of China and China’s charming landscape.

 

 

Chinese Ambassador H.E. Li Ming warmly welcomed student visitors. Ambassador Li said, this was the first group of visitors of the public since the commission of the office building of Chinese Embassy. China is a huge country of 1.4 billion people with 5,000 years of ancient civilization. As the old saying goes, “in youth we learn and in age we understand”. Ambassador Li encouraged Solomon Islands students to learn more about China, make full use of golden age of youth to explore the world and become youth ambassadors for the friendship between Solomon Islands and China.

 

 

Student representatives from Guadalcanal, Western, Malaita, Makira Provinces said it was great pleasure to be invited to the Open House Day of the Chinese Embassy. They were deeply impressed by China’s beautiful scenery, vibrant life, hardworking and creative people. They look forward to more opportunities to visit the Chinese Embassy and China in the future.
