Solomon Islands Pavilion Gains Popularity in Country Exhibition at the 6th China International Import Expo

Solomon Islands participates in the Country Exhibition for the first time at the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th. Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, Mr. Riley Mesepitu, led the Solomon Islands delegation together with Charge d’Affaires of the Solomon Islands Embassy in China, Ms. Theresia Shanel. The delegation introduces Solomon Islands to international buyers and investors and promotes Solomon Islands brands and products to the world, such as Soltuna, KOSI, local-made honey and handcrafts. Solomon Islands country pavilion gains the second highest popularity among all Pacific Islands countries!

The 6th CIIE, known as the world’s biggest import fair, kicked off in Shanghai on Sunday, with more than 3,400 global exhibitors gathering at the expo. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to this grand event and said the world’s economic recovery required the solidarity and cooperation of all countries. On the opening ceremony, Chinese premier Li Qiang reaffirmed China’s commitment for high-level opening-up and called countries to work together toward common development.
