Ambassador Cai Weiming Presented Letter of Credence to H.E. Governor-General Sir David Vunagi

On 12th December, 2023, H.E. Cai Weiming, the Ambassador designate of  the People’s Republic of China to Solomon Islands, presented his Letter  of Credence to H.E. Sir David Vunagi, Governor-General of Solomon  Islands at the Government House.



During  the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Cai conveyed cordial greetings  and best wishes from President Xi Jinping and the government and people  of the People’s Republic of China to His Excellency the Governor-General  and the government and people of Solomon Islands. He said since the  establishment of diplomatic relations four years ago, our bilateral  relations have remained at the forefront of relations between China and  Pacific Island Countries.



Ambassador  Cai said, as new Chinese ambassador to SI, he’s deeply aware of the  important responsibility and glorious mission upon his shoulders. He  will dedicate his utmost efforts to promoting bilateral relationship and  cooperation in various fields and enhance the friendship between our  two peoples.



H.E.  Governor-General Sir David Vunagi welcomed the arrival of H.E. Cai  Weiming, he said Solomon Islands enjoys a strategic and comprehensive  relationship with the People’s Republic of China forged by rich and  diverse cooperation covering health, trade, commerce, sports,  agriculture, education, fisheries, climate change, meteorology and  disaster management, air services, rural development, sports diplomacy,  police and security cooperation.



The  Governor-General said, China remains one of Solomon Islands closest and  special friend. He is confident that under the tenure as Ambassador  Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Solomon Islands for H.E. Cai  Weiming, both our countries will continue to meaningfully pursue our  shared prosperity. Solomon Islands looks forward to work closely with  Ambassador Cai and Chinese Government to strengthen the new form of  partnership that integrate our two countries.

Before the  ceremony, Ambassador Cai Weiming inspected the RSIPF guard of honor.  He presented the copy of the Letter of Credence to Hon. Foreign  Minister Jeremiah Manele on the same day.
