New Chinese Ambassador Arrived in Solomon Islands

H.E. Mr. Cai Weiming, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and  Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China, arrived in Honiara on  December 11, 2023. He was greeted by Hon. Danny Philip, H.E. Ambassador  Colin Beck, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and  External Trade, Minister Counselor Ding Yonghua, Counselor Gong Rui from  the Chinese Embassy and representatives of Chinese community and  Chinese Companies in Solomon Islands at the airport.

Ambassador  Cai expressed his sincere gratitude to friends from all circles of  Solomon Islands for their long-term support to the development of  China-Solomon Islands relations and sent his cordial greetings and best  wishes to  the Chinese communities and the Chinese institutions in  Solomon Islands.



“China  is a trustworthy friend, a reliable brother and a sincere partner for  common development to Solomon Islands. Since the establishment of  diplomatic relations four years ago, the two sides have made joint  progress in development cooperation, and constantly explored and  deepened people-to-people exchanges. Our bilateral relations have  remained at the forefront of relations between China and Pacific Island  Countries.”said Ambassador Cai.

“China is willing to further share  the development opportunities of the Chinese path to modernization with  Solomon Islands, strengthen cooperation, expand the convergence of  interests, constantly enrich the content of our comprehensive strategic  partnership, and help Solomon Islands achieve the Sustainable  Development Goals,” Ambassador Cai stressed, “As the new Chinese  Ambassador to Solomon Islands, I look forward to  deepening communications and expanding cooperation with friends from all  circles of Solomon Islands, and make unremitting efforts for the steady  and sustained growth of China-SI relations.”
