On April 26, H.E. Ambassador Li Ming attended the launching ceremony of the Kolokolo clinic in South Vella Lavella constituency. The ceremony was also honored by the presence of Hon. Fredrick Kologeto, Minister of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration and Hon. Billy Veo, Premier of Western Province.

In his remarks to the Kolokolo people, Ambassador Li said the Kolokolo clinic is an important achievement through the Chinese government rural development assistance to Solomon Islands as well as a testimony of the friendship between the two peoples. He also briefed on the latest achievements in China-SI health cooperation and noted that the Chinese Embassy will continue to support the people of Solomon Islands for sustainable development.

Minister Kologeto and Premier Veo warmly welcomed Ambassador Li. Both of them expounded on the development of rural livelihood, health, infrastructure and sub-national cooperation between China and Solomon Islands to the Kolokolo people. They also re-affirmed support to SI-China relations, and expressed willingness to embrace more China-sponsored projects in both Western Province and South Vella Lavella constituency.
