On April 25th, H.E. Ambassador Li Ming attended the handover ceremony of sponsoring the Roviana Lagoon Festival in Gizo, Western Province. The funding was handed over to Hon. Ron Ghemu, Minister of Tourism of WPG, and witnessed by Hon. Billy Veo, Premier of Western Province. 

The Roviana Lagoon Festival was established in 2009 to raise people’s awareness of preserving Roviana culture and tradition especially the elegant artistry of the Tomoko (war canoe) and the great feasts, chants and dances associated with it.

Ambassador Li Ming visited Western Province from April 25th to 26th. During the trip, he met with executives of the provincial government, visited infrastructure projects by Chinese companies, and met with members from Chinese communities in Munda and Gizo.
